Project Registration SOP at The Planet Reserve

Welcome to The Planet Reserve, committed to fostering a greener future. The project registration process is designed to be thorough and transparent, ensuring that each endorsed project aligns with the values of the registry and contributes significantly to environmental conservation, climate action, and sustainability. Here is how project developers can register their projects with The Planet Reserve:

1

Project Listing

Begin by preparing a project concept using the template provided by The Planet Reserve. This initial step allows us to understand the project developer objectives and determine if they align with our mission of sustainability, innovation, and community impact. Detailed discussions will take place with our members from the partnership team.

2

Project Description Document (PDD) Submission

Nature-Based Climate Action Projects - Following the initial approval from the Executive Secretariat, project developers must submit a detailed document aligned with their selected approach: GHG Project Plan (GPA), GHG Project Activity (GPA), or Unified Land Management Approach - GHG Project Plan (ULMA-GPP). This document must encompass all aspects of the project, including its objectives, the methodologies employed, expected outcomes, and how it contributes to sustainability.

Industrial Projects - Following preliminary approval, developers must submit a PDD for the project. This document should detail the project 's innovative approaches to reducing emissions within the industrial sector, outlining the technologies used, projected outcomes, and alignment with The Planet Reserve's standards for reducing industrial greenhouse gases.

3

Public Comments

The project then enters a public commenting phase, where it will be published in our pipeline for broader visibility, for a period of 30 days. This period allows stakeholders and the public to provide feedback, ensuring transparency and community involvement.

4

Validation

An independent third party, accredited by The Planet Reserve, will undergo a thorough validation of the project-related documents subsequently submitting the final validation report. This process involves a rigorous assessment to ensure the project's methodology is applied correctly, complies with local laws, and aligns with global sustainability standards.

5

Registration

Upon submission of the final validation report along with the required project-related documents, the Project Proponent may request for registration of the project with The Planet Reserve registry. Upon reviewing the document, the Technical Committee of TPR will approve the project for registration on the Planet Reserve registry.

6

Verification and Issuance

Post-registration, the project's emission reductions are verified against the project's monitoring plan by an accredited verification body (VVB) listed on TPR. The verification report along with the monitoring report is evaluated by the Technical Committee of TPR before recommending the issuance of credits on The Planet Reserve registry.

For ongoing projects Fwith an expectancy for credits to be issued, the Project Proponent may undertake measures for ensuring the combined validation and verification of the project by an independent third party, accredited by TPR.

7

Ongoing Support and Reporting

As part of The Planet Reserve family, project developers will receive continuous support from the Program Facilitation Committee. We provide resources and guidance to ensure the project achieves its intended impact. Regular reporting will be required to monitor the project's progress and ongoing sustainability contributions.

To facilitate the transfer of projects from CDM or other registries, the project proponents are required to request for the same by writing an email with the project details/ other required documents to verify@theplanetreserve.com.
The PP will be contacted by the Technical Committee for further assessments to ensure compliance with the requirements of the TPR standard and other criteria, following which the transfer of projects from CDM or other registries. Subsequent issuances maybe made on the approved project in the TPR registry upon following the stipulated procedures.

The Planet Reserve is excited to partner on the journey towards environmental stewardship. For a detailed guide on each step and to begin the registration process:
